What is a gamebook?

Gamebooks are books where the reader participates in the story by making various choices, each of which will lead them down a different path.

The interaction takes place through choices the reader makes after reading certain sections, and the story will branch out and continue along the desired path. The interesting factor is the repetition of the book, where you can read it multiple times with different choices, obtaining a different ending each time.

The diversity of genres can be various, such as adventure, science fiction, and even investigation.

The path the reader chooses in some of these books can be based on free will or determined by dice rolls, making the reading experience and the story to follow based on luck. However, there are also other methods of choice that vary depending on the rules of the gamebook.

Creating a story in a gamebook can be a bit complicated, as it requires creating a story with multiple paths and changes. However, there is a tool that can be very helpful in this process called Twine; With Twine, you can create bubbles with summaries and make branching connections between them, as well as include the alternatives that will link between the bubbles.

It is worth noting:

These books are usually pocket-sized, making them easy to carry around and great for reading during travel, free time, or lunch breaks, for example.
