What is Gamification?

It is the use of game-like methods in various areas such as education, health, work, and social life, generally in non-game contexts.

The main objective of gamification is to make something more attractive and playful in a way that captures and maintains a person's attention for longer, as well as increasing visual and interactive stimuli for better performance in a task or study.

Gamification is present in various fields and can greatly aid performance. In some foreign companies, gamification has been directly adopted in production, where employees interact with an interactive interface like in games and carry out their work in a lighter and more attentive manner.

Some well-known applications like Duolingo, a language-learning app, have a game-like format where you advance through difficulty levels and earn rewards, badges, and other incentives, which makes studying more engaging and enjoyable.

Playfulness has often been opposed to work and study:

Society has been driven by playfulness since the beginning, and playfulness has also shaped culture in certain ways. Often, games have been seen as being contrary to working or studying and only as leisure activities. Even today, many people still have this perspective. However, gamification brings playfulness to these areas and has been doing exceptional work in every segment where it is adopted.

Playfulness has become increasingly important for mental and creative health in society. Making things playful makes tasks lighter and prevents various forms of stress.
